  • Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll invite you to share what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any past counseling experiences. We’ll also talk about confidentiality, logistics, and what approaches may best support you. Many people leave the first session feeling both relieved and hopeful. We discuss and determine if our therapeutic relationship is a good potential match for you.

  • Confidentiality is a cornerstone of counseling. What you share in session is protected by law under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act). This means your personal health information cannot be shared without your written consent, except in specific cases required by law (such as immediate risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult). I’ll go over these limits clearly so you feel safe opening up and know exactly how your information is protected. We’ll also review your intake paperwork, informed consent, and HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices so you fully understand your rights as a client.

  • I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in the state of Colorado, which means I’ve completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am practicing under supervision while accruing the final hours required for full licensure. Clients receive the full benefit of my education, training, and dedication, along with the added support of a seasoned supervisor. As part of this status, I follow all HIPAA privacy regulations just as fully licensed counselors do. As an LPCC I have already completed over 1,000 hours and 2 years of in-home intense family therapy with struggling teens ages 13-18.

  • Sessions are typically 60 minutes. We often start with weekly sessions to build momentum, then adjust the schedule as you make progress. Families and couples may require joint and individual sessions, and those navigating a crisis may meet multiple times per week. Together, we’ll find the rhythm that best supports your growth and healing.

  • I do not bill insurance directly, but I provide a HIPAA-compliant superbill for you to submit to your provider if they offer out-of-network benefits. Many clients also choose to pay privately, which allows us to focus on your goals without insurance restrictions. I take Credit Cards, Venmo, or personal checks.
