Susan Leety, MA, LPCC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate.

Providing counseling and therapy in Glenwood Springs, the Roaring Fork Valley, and across Colorado through telehealth services.

In addition to completing my Master’s level of education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Adams State University, I have specialized training in a variety of fascinating modalities.  Over the years, I have found that an eclectic approach to therapy, which integrates life experience and multiple methods, often expedites overall growth and healing.

I believe in lifelong learning and practice. I have raised two amazing boys, divorced from a 28-year relationship, and am currently in a relationship with a loving partner. I have faced and mostly healed intense lifelong insomnia, Epstein-Barr virus, and triggers of abandonment through both clinical and alternative methods.

Our physical and emotional wounds, along with spiritual blocks, often trace back to family history, epigenetics, life experiences, trauma, and attachment patterns. As we begin to unravel the survival-based conditioning we’ve carried, we open space to reconnect with our original sense of childhood joy. Below is a list of some of the theoretical and research based resources I use, as well as a list of holistic approaches.

These research supported modalities guide my work with individuals, couples, and families throughout Glenwood Springs, the Roaring Fork Valley, Gunnison, and the state of Colorado.:

  • Structural Family Therapy

  • Gottman Couples Method - in training

  • EMDR - in training

  • Internal Family Systems (Informed)

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy

  • Person-Centered

  • Support for couples through the financial stress of separation & divorce

For clients who want a more holistic approach, I also draw from practices that support nervous system regulation and emotional healing:

  • Mind-body integration and mindfulness

  • Yoga-informed tools for nervous system regulation

  • Ayurveda-based wellness insights

  • Neuroplasticity training to support new patterns of thinking and behavior

  • Strategic interventions and coaching for motivation and change

  • Family Constellation
